Can we get enough vitamin C from our diet?
Yes & No. You need to be getting in sufficient amounts of vitamin in your diet and also daily as you lose it daily and your body doesn’t store it as its a water soluble vitamin. You may be getting the basic level to prevent scurvy, i.e bleeding gums but are you getting enough for all those function listed and more….?
Which supplement of vitamin C?
I personally think ascorbic acid is a low quality vitamin C which can be harsh to digest for many. My preference is to go for a natural form such as Camu Camu berry or Acerola cherry. Which both contain absorbable forms of vitamin C. Berries gram for gram do contain vitamin C. However the super berries that are not native to the UK or available fresh here, are richer in vitamin C. This also includes goji berries, gooseberries and elderberry. Camu Camu seems to rank top of the vitamin C content list. I like the brand called Kiki which can be mixed into smoothies, juice or water.
What else can we take to boost our immunity?
Think about taking: Zinc, Vitamin D3, Medicinal Mushrooms, Magnesium, and Selenium alongside vitamin C. After all it’s about Synergy Nutrition 🙂
