I really try to avoid looking at other people’s shopping baskets when I’m out and about. But sometimes I cannot help a two second glance whilst waiting in the queue for example. It never fails to surprise me how people still choose certain foods. I remain non-judgemental however! The food companies and advertising companies are partly to blame as they do influence people’s food and drink choices and as I’ve mentioned before lead one astray to what they think maybe ‘healthy’. Nonetheless they cannot pull the cotton wool over my eyes!
So my observations tell me that what people are eating or not eating is leading to dis-ease (in other words -some ease basically) in the body. I continue to meet individuals suffering from an array of symptoms such as low energy levels, low mood, raised cholesterol and blood pressure sleeping issues, weight gain, compromised bone density, impaired digestion, bloating, skin complaints and hair thinning and loss. For me, the most important thing is one’s health. Of course nutrition is just one leg on the stool of health. And I will be writing more about this in due course and for those of you that have seen me for 1-1 consultations, I’ve spoken to you about this too.
Anyhow, Easter is just around the corner. So of course please do enjoy your chocolate eggs. The darker the chocolate the better! I do not want to be seeing a basket overflowing with only chocolate and sweets, it needs to be balanced with nutritious food too! Carrot sticks in hummus- great snack, not just for bunny rabbits. Carrots don’t have to be eaten raw, feel free to cook them too. They are bursting with B-carotene (a family of antioxidants) which the body needs to form vitamin A -which is lacking in many people’s diet.
